Three decades innovating beyond boundaries

Noblis is a nonprofit science and technology company. Every dollar we earn goes back into research, our people, and the federal missions we serve. That structural independence means our expertise is shaped by what works, not what sells. It’s why federal agencies have trusted us for more than 30 years. It’s why we’ve been named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies 14 times.

Designed from the ground up for new ideas

We fund our own research. Thirty percent of our net service revenue goes to multi-year R&D, including work with no guaranteed contract attached. We find new methods, file new patents, and field new solutions because we decided they mattered before a customer asked.

We build our own infrastructure. Petabyte-scale private cloud, high-performance GPU clusters, five concurrent generative AI platforms, and a multi-site research network with augmented-reality capabilities that connects labs across the country.

We work across disciplines. A biosurveillance problem might be unlocked by a machine learning solution. A space security mission might pull from RF science, cyber, and systems engineering simultaneously. Our scientists don’t stay in lanes because the hardest federal problems don’t stay in lanes.

We move research to operations. Ideas start in our research labs and end up in fielded systems. That pipeline from lab to mission is what 30 years of sustained R&D actually produces.

Innovation that Leads

With three decades of self-funded R&D under our belt, we’ve already tested and refined approaches in areas our customers are just beginning to explore. When a federal agency brings us a problem, the work is often already underway. We call that a head start.

Mission Cards 2026 Independ Thinking

Independent Thinking by Design

When we advise a customer, the only thing behind that advice is the evidence. As a nonprofit, that independence is written into our corporate structure, and it shapes every engagement we take on.
