We’ll be sharing a demo from 9-10 am ET, Tues., Jan. 14 in suite 1808.

Presenters: Dr. Nathaniel J. Fuller, Nathan Clark

Noblis developed the CANES LLM to enhance shipboard and shore-based network capabilities for the U.S. Navy. The CANES program consolidates various afloat networks into a single, more efficient network system, providing the Navy with improved operational capabilities and communications. The CANES LLM uses natural language processing (NLP) functionalities to facilitate better interactions between crew members, systems and operational commands. The LLM can be used for advanced search capabilities, enabling users to query knowledge bases, manuals and operational procedures in natural language, resulting in faster and more efficient information retrieval. The model can analyze vast amounts of operational data and provide insights or recommendations, aiding decision-making processes during missions.

Improving Readiness with Advanced Modeling and Simulation

OptiSourceTM logoWe’ll be sharing a demo from 12-1 pm ET, Tues., Jan. 14 in suite 1808.

Presenter: Allison Hudak

When the U.S. Navy needed to improve mission readiness for the surface ship fleet, Noblis prototyped and delivered a customized solution called OptiSource that provides strategic schedule modeling of drydocking and other maintenance periods for surface ship fleet—which includes approximately 160-200 ships and 600-800 dockings—looking out over a 30-year period. OptiSource can be customized to meet our customers’ unique needs and mission. With its powerful features and benefits, our solution delivers real-time information, improves efficiencies and forecasting capabilities and integrates into existing infrastructure/platforms. Our goal was to help enable stakeholders to expedite decision making, workload forecasting and optimize maintenance scheduling in a common data operating environment.

The rapid development of generative AI and foundation models threatens to outpace organizations’ ability to fully understand and control their potential risks, leaving a critical gap in their ability to ensure safe and responsible deployment. To meet this challenge, Noblis developed the Artificial Intelligence Assurance Implementation (AI2) technology to assess the quality and safety of AI models.

AI2 uses several tests and guidelines to evaluate these models in three key areas:

  1. Technical performance tests measure how well the model works, including its accuracy, reliability and ability to handle unexpected situations.
  2. Societal impact tests look at how the model might affect people, through its potential for bias or any privacy issues.
  3. Ethical guidelines ensure that the model aligns with values like fairness, accountability and transparency

By applying our AI2 solution, agencies seeking to integrate AI can reduce risks and create more reliable and responsible AI systems. In addition to AI2, we will provide an overview of our AI training course offerings, sharing lessons learned in delivering customized, responsible AI courseware to our customers and employees.

Cyber Security and Operations

Cybersecurity, analysis and operations are critical areas of investment for all Noblis customers. Adversaries continue to foil our nation’s defenses, often hiding in oceans of data that analysts struggle to parse and leveraging AI to increase the success rate of their attacks. To counter these threats, cybersecurity professionals need a new breed of force-multiplying tools and techniques to detect vulnerabilities, build resiliency and increase mission impact. Noblis’ breakthrough solutions combine technology and tradecraft to provide cybersecurity at the scale and speed needed in this threat environment, delivering insights through analytics to stay ahead of internal and external threats.

Noblis Venture with SCOUT Expands Domain Intelligence and Safety

Space-based situational awareness is critical to our national security and economy, and we recognize the need for better and more diverse orbital environment data sets. Noblis is driving this mission through a strategic venture with SCOUT Space, Inc. (SCOUT), a space technology company dedicated to enabling a new era of space safety and transparency and a leading in-space observation data provider. The combination of capabilities from the two companies allows for more dedicated resources to augment space-related intelligence, expands Noblis’ space portfolio and mission impacts and provides more resources for SCOUT’s ongoing offerings.
