On Thursday, April 25, 2019, a group of local middle school students who are part of Girls Rock in Technology (GRIT) visited the Noblis Headquarters in Reston, VA. The group toured the company’s data center as well as their Internet of Things (IoT) and Forensics labs. Their visit wrapped up with a panel discussion and Q&A with a group of employees, showing the girls the variety and possibility for careers in technology related fields.
The GRIT program introduces middle school-aged girls to careers in Information Technology. It is their mission is to introduce diverse groups of middle school girls to technology-focused career possibilities, with an emphasis on cyber security and Artificial Intelligence. GRIT, founded in 2017, was started to help girls understand what’s available and what they can aspire to, and to encourage them to consider careers in technology.
As a science and technology company, Noblis has a great interest in supporting education in STEM and organizations who help students learn, grow, and become the next generation leaders in STEM fields.
