Noblis to Moderate Crucial Aviation Workforce Discussion

Noblis’ Katherine Kondub will moderate the 2015 Air Traffic Control Association panel on Fostering the Future of Aviation

By 2020, millennials are expected to make up 50 percent of our workforce, but less and less seem to be drawn to the aviation industry. Just last fall, at their annual conference, the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) discussed this issue and how to tackle it. They concluded that we need to focus on increasing outreach to the public and making the industry more attractive to job seekers in their twenties.

Katherine Kondub, from Noblis’ Transportation Systems mission area, has been chosen to moderate this year’s Fostering the Futureof Aviation panel during ATCA’s 60th Annual Conference on November 3. Last year, she played a supporting role in the conference and was a natural choice when they decided that a member of their Young Aviation Professionals organization should moderate the conference this time around. At the conference, Katherine will discuss the approach Noblis is taking to attract the best and brightest young professionals to the aviation industry and facilitate a panel discussion between current recruiters and early career professionals from across the industry. When asked why she enjoys supporting programs like ATCA, Katherine replied that she is “fascinated by the complex problems currently facing the aviation field,” and said “it is fulfilling that the work we do serves to help the flying public.”

Katherine Kondub is a Deputy Project Manager at Noblis, currently focusing on the advancement of enterprise information technology services at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). She is an active member of ATCA Young Aviation Professionals and is passionate about increasing engagement between early career professionals and the aviation industry.
